You’re Already Investing the Time

What If Those Few Minutes Created a Real Connection?

Business owners already spend time creating posts, uploading photos, and sharing their businesses in Facebook groups. Some posts get noticed, while many quickly disappear in a crowded feed. Even when someone sees your post, they may still not know who you are, what makes your business different, or whether you are someone they can confidently recommend.

Would those same few minutes have more impact spent posting and hoping—or introducing yourself face-to-face in a live video conversation with local business owners?

From Visibility to Real Connection

Being Seen Isn’t the Same as Being Known.

Facebook can help introduce your business, but a post is easy to miss—and even easier to forget. Quality referrals usually come from people who know what you do, understand the value you provide, and trust you enough to recommend you.

Showing Up and Connecting

What Helps People Remember and Refer You

  • Real conversations give business owners an opportunity to hear directly from you and understand what makes your company different.
  • You can explain who you serve, what an ideal referral looks like, and how other members can confidently introduce you.
  • Consistent monthly contact builds familiarity without requiring weekly meetings or constant online posting.
  • When someone needs your service, you are easier to remember, trust, and recommend.
Why TBBX Exists

How TBBX Works

From Application to Trusted Connections.

TBBX uses a simple four-step process to welcome qualified Tampa Bay businesses, protect each member’s industry position, and create the foundation for trusted referral relationships.

1

Apply for Membership

Tell us about your business, industry, service area, experience, online presence, and preferred meeting schedule through the TBBX membership application.

2

Business Review

We review your local business presence, reputation, industry, and eligibility to help maintain a trusted community of established Tampa Bay professionals.

3

Claim Your Industry Seat

Once approved, your business receives exclusive industry representation in its assigned TBBX group, reducing direct competition and protecting your position.

4

Build Trusted Relationships

Introduce your business, learn what other members do, understand the referrals they need, and build the familiarity that leads to confident recommendations.

Approval Is Only the Beginning

After your membership is activated, you will complete your business profile, receive access to your assigned monthly meeting, appear in the TBBX member directory when your profile is ready, and begin connecting with other verified Tampa Bay business owners.

Built for Busy Business Owners

Your Business Comes First.

Running a business does not stop because it is meeting day. TBBX gives members a practical way to remain visible, connected, and remembered without putting their workday on hold.

Join From Wherever You Are

Connect from your phone, tablet, or computer. Whether you are at the office, between appointments, or out in the field, your monthly TBBX meeting can travel with you.

Two hours to connect — no pressure to stay.

The meeting window runs from 12:00 PM–2:00 PM. Stay for the full conversation or briefly introduce yourself, share an update, mention the referral you need, and return to work.

Your Team Can Represent You

The owner does not have to attend every meeting personally. A trusted employee or business representative can check in, share updates, and keep your company connected with the chapter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions Business Owners Ask About TBBX.

Everything you need to know about meetings, membership, protected industry seats, and becoming part of Tampa Bay Business Exchange.

01

How is TBBX different from a traditional networking group?

TBBX is built for busy Tampa Bay business owners. Instead of requiring lengthy weekly meetings, formal presentations, or referral quotas, members participate in one focused online lunch meeting each month. The emphasis is on building genuine familiarity, trust, and lasting referral relationships.

02

How often do TBBX groups meet?

Each TBBX group meets once a month during a 12:00 PM–2:00 PM lunch-hour window. Groups are assigned by meeting day and week, such as the first Tuesday or third Thursday of each month.

03

Do I have to remain for the entire meeting?

No. You may stay for the entire hour or make a shorter check-in when your schedule is busy. Pop in, say hello, remind members what your business does, share the kind of referral you need, and return to serving your customers. Business comes first.

04

Can I join a meeting from my phone?

Yes. Members can join from a phone, tablet, or computer while they are at the office, at home, inside a service vehicle, between appointments, or wherever their business takes them.

05

Does the business owner have to attend personally?

No. The owner may participate, but a trusted employee or company representative can also attend, share updates, explain the referrals the business needs, and keep the company connected with its assigned group.

06

Why is only one business accepted per industry?

Exclusive industry representation helps members build referral relationships without competing against another company offering the same primary service inside their group. Once your seat is approved and activated, your industry position is protected within that assigned group.

07

What happens if my preferred industry seat is already reserved?

TBBX can help you review other available Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday groups across the first through fourth weeks of the month. You may also request notification if your preferred position becomes available later.

08

How are businesses selected for membership?

Every application is reviewed before approval. TBBX looks for legitimate businesses that serve the Tampa Bay area, maintain professional and ethical practices, have a positive local reputation, and are a good fit for the community.

09

Is there a fee to submit a membership application?

No. There is no fee to submit your TBBX membership application. You can apply, tell us about your business, select your preferred meeting schedule, and have your industry availability reviewed.

10

How do I become a Founding Member?

Complete the online membership application with information about your business, experience, service area, reputation, industry, and preferred meeting schedule. If approved, you will complete your member profile and receive access to your assigned TBBX group.

11

Can I attend a TBBX meeting before becoming a member?

TBBX meetings are designed for approved members and their authorized business representatives. Keeping meetings private allows members to speak openly, develop trusted relationships, and exchange business opportunities within a verified community.
