TBBX is open to reputable business owners and qualified professionals who serve customers throughout the Tampa Bay area. Every applicant is reviewed before membership is approved.
We look for legitimate businesses with professional standards, ethical business practices, dependable customer service, and a genuine interest in building trusted local relationships.
Businesses should be properly registered and authorized to operate in Florida when registration is required for that type of business. TBBX may review Florida public business records during the application process.
A complete Google Business Profile with a positive local reputation is strongly preferred. It helps verify that the company is active, serves Tampa Bay customers, and has an established public business presence.
Members must maintain any licenses, permits, certifications, or insurance required for their particular industry. Every company remains responsible for its own legal and professional compliance.
There is currently no registration fee and no monthly membership fee to become a TBBX Founding Member.
TBBX may introduce a paid membership option later after the community has demonstrated its value. Members would be informed before any future pricing change takes effect.
Each group accepts only one business representing a specific primary industry. For example, one plumber, one electrician, one roofer, and one real estate professional may hold seats in the same group.
This protects each member’s position and removes direct competition from inside the group.
TBBX may offer an available industry seat in another group. You may also be placed on a waiting list and contacted when a suitable seat becomes available.
Each group is designed for approximately 100 verified businesses. This provides useful industry variety while keeping the group small enough for members to know and remember one another.
Yes. A newer business may apply if it is properly established, serves Tampa Bay, and can demonstrate professional standards, industry knowledge, and responsible customer service.
Yes. Locally owned or locally operated franchises may apply if they serve the Tampa Bay community and meet the same verification and participation standards as other members.
Yes. TBBX serves the greater Tampa Bay business community. Qualified businesses may apply if they actively serve customers throughout Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Pinellas County, or surrounding Tampa Bay communities.
A membership is normally assigned to one fixed group and one protected industry seat. This allows members to build consistent relationships with the same business owners each month.
Complete the online TBBX membership application. The form asks about you, your business, your services, your primary industry, your service area, and your preferred meeting schedule.
Have your business name, contact information, website, primary industry, service area, Google Business Profile, business description, and preferred meeting day and week ready.
Provide accurate information so TBBX can verify your business and determine whether an appropriate industry seat is available.
Yes. The application allows you to select a preferred meeting day and meeting week. Preferences are considered, but final placement depends on capacity and industry-seat availability.
TBBX reviews your information, verifies the business, checks your requested industry category, and determines whether a suitable group seat is available.
You may be contacted if additional information or clarification is needed.
Verification may include reviewing your company registration, website, Google Business Profile, customer reputation, contact information, licensing requirements, and Tampa Bay service area.
No. TBBX is a private, verified business community. An application may be declined when a business cannot be verified, does not meet community standards, has a conflicting industry category, or is not an appropriate fit.
Review time depends on the completeness of the application, whether additional verification is required, and whether the requested industry seat is available.
Approved applicants receive an email explaining the next steps, including profile completion, membership activation, portal access, and meeting-group information.
You will be asked to complete your member profile and provide the business information that will appear inside the portal and, when authorized, the public directory.
After activation, you receive access to your assigned group, meeting information, member tools, and the TBBX community.
Founding Members are the early verified businesses helping build the first TBBX groups and establish the culture of the community. They are among the first companies to claim protected industry seats before the initial groups are filled.
Portal access is provided after your application is approved and your membership is activated. Your portal email should match the email connected to your approved member record.
Follow the portal-access instructions in your membership email. Use the approved email address associated with your TBBX record when creating or signing into your account.
Confirm that you are using the same email address approved for membership. If access remains unavailable, contact TBBX support so your status and account email can be reviewed.
Sign into the portal, open My Profile, and complete the business-information fields. Include accurate details about your company, services, contact information, service area, business description, ideal referral, and what makes your business different.
Your profile should explain who you are, what your company does, who you serve, where you work, and what type of referral is most valuable to you.
You may also provide your website, Google Business Profile, social links, scheduling link, 30-second pitch, service area, logo, profile photo, and other useful business details.

Use the image-upload fields in your profile. Choose a clear professional photo and a high-quality company logo suitable for display in the portal and directory.
Directory Visibility controls whether your approved business profile may appear in the public TBBX directory.
Selecting Yes allows eligible profile information to be displayed publicly. Selecting No keeps the profile out of the public directory while preserving your portal membership.
Depending on the information provided and your visibility preference, the directory may display your company name, industry, contact details, website, service area, description, logo, profile image, and other approved business information.
Yes. After adding or changing information, click Save Profile. Your updates are not complete until the portal confirms that the profile was saved.

The portal is designed for modern desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers. A desktop or tablet may be easier when completing or editing a detailed business profile.

Use the Member Directory to view approved members and business profiles. Contact options may include calling, emailing, visiting the company website, or opening the full profile.
The Referral Center documents and sends qualified referrals between members. Information should be accurate, respectful, and submitted only when the prospect has agreed to be contacted.
This area records business that one TBBX member directly gives to or completes with another member. It helps recognize members who support businesses within the community.
Use the Contact Support link available through the TBBX website or portal. Include your membership email and a clear description of the issue.
Each group meets once per month. Members are assigned a fixed meeting day and week so they can build consistent relationships with the same business owners.
Meetings are scheduled from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM during the lunch hour.
Regular monthly meetings are held online through Google Meet. This allows business owners throughout Tampa Bay to participate without travel time.
TBBX monthly meetings are held through Google Meet. Members may join from a desktop, laptop, tablet, or compatible mobile device with an internet connection.
Your assigned Google Meet link is available inside the Meeting Center in the member portal. The Meeting Center also displays your meeting day, meeting week, and next scheduled meeting date.
Always use the meeting link assigned to your specific group.
Yes. Members receive email reminders before their scheduled monthly meeting. Members should also check the Meeting Center and keep the assigned date on their own calendar.
Google may ask you to sign in or identify yourself depending on your device, browser, and the meeting-access settings.
Use your real name and business identity so the host can recognize you and admit you when necessary.
On a desktop or laptop, you can normally join through a supported browser without installing separate software. On a phone or tablet, the Google Meet app may provide the easiest experience.
Yes. Confirm that your microphone, speaker, browser permissions, and internet connection work before your first meeting.
Testing in advance prevents technical problems from interfering with your introduction to the group.
Check the microphone and camera controls inside Google Meet, confirm that your browser has permission to use them, and verify that the correct audio device is selected.
You may participate without a camera. If the microphone is not working, use the meeting chat temporarily.
Return to the Meeting Center and open the link again. Confirm that you are signed into the correct portal account and viewing the meeting assigned to your group.
You may also try another supported browser or device. If the link still does not work, contact support and include your name, business name, meeting day, and meeting week.

Never operate a vehicle or perform unsafe work while actively using Google Meet.

Yes. Chat may be used for introductions, contact details, helpful links, and information related to the current discussion.
Avoid excessive promotion, unrelated messages, or anything that distracts from the meeting.

Yes. The group link is intended for approved TBBX members and authorized representatives only.
Do not post it publicly, place it on social media, or forward it to an unapproved guest.
Guests should not be invited without advance approval. TBBX protects group privacy and industry seats, so guest participation must be authorized first.
Use your real name or a clear combination of your name and company, such as Anthony — SunStar AI. This helps the host and other members identify you.
Open the same meeting link and rejoin. If you are placed in a waiting area, remain there until the host admits you.

Yes. A trusted employee or representative may attend when the owner is unavailable, provided that person can represent the business professionally.
Your customers come first. Members may step away, mute themselves, turn off the camera, or leave when business requires attention. TBBX is designed to support your business, not interfere with it.
Yes. A respectful pop-in is better than missing the opportunity to stay connected. Participate for as much of the meeting as your business schedule reasonably allows.
Consistent participation is expected because trust and referral relationships cannot grow without continued involvement.
TBBX understands that customer needs, emergencies, vacations, and business responsibilities may occasionally prevent attendance.
Members who repeatedly miss meetings without maintaining contact may lose their protected industry seat. Three absences may result in membership review, removal, and the seat becoming available to another qualified business.
Attendance helps maintain active groups and protects the value of each industry seat. The goal is not to punish members. It is to ensure every protected seat belongs to a business that remains connected.
No. TBBX does not impose referral quotas. Recommend another member only when you genuinely believe that business is appropriate for the customer or opportunity.
Yes. A useful referral involves a real person or company with a legitimate need. The prospect should understand why they are being referred and agree to be contacted.
Open the Referral Center, select the receiving member, and provide the requested contact and opportunity information. Confirm that the prospect agreed to be contacted before submitting it.
Members may make a direct introduction by phone, email, or text. When practical, also record the referral in the portal so the opportunity remains organized.
Members receive a protected industry seat, monthly meetings, portal access, a business profile, directory access, referral tools, meeting information, community updates, and opportunities to build trusted local relationships.
No. TBBX creates an environment for relationships and referrals, but cannot guarantee business results. Value depends on participation, professionalism, trust, responsiveness, and service quality.
Members meet consistently, learn about one another’s services, view professional profiles, exchange updates, and develop familiarity over time.
That consistency makes it easier to recommend another business confidently when the right opportunity appears.
Members may share appropriate updates through approved TBBX communication channels. Promotions should remain professional, useful, and respectful of the community.
Update your portal profile promptly. Changes to ownership, company name, industry, licensing status, service area, or company structure may require a membership review.
An inactive, suspended, or former member may lose portal access, directory visibility, meeting access, and the protected industry seat. The seat may then be offered to another qualified Tampa Bay business.
TBBX is built around one simple principle: your business comes first.
